WHY TOO MUCH HIIT MIGHT BE HURTING YOUR
Humans were designed to burn fat as our primary source of energy at low intensities. However, with a culture of relative inactivity brought about by technological advance and a diet high in processed sugar means much of the population burn carbohydrates at low intensities.
The fitness industry has popularised High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) because it feels good! ...Or at least feels like we've done a workout when we've finished, whether we feel good or not!
